Extraordinary English Festival was Back with Its New Innovations
MALANG-Extraordinary English Festival (EXIT) was back at 2019! EXIT 2019 was dare to bring several new innovations on its second edition. Seeing the big enthusiasm of English competition, EXIT 2019 offered various kind of competitions. There were Speech and Drama Contest which made EXIT 2019 different with the last year concept. Speech Contest, Drama Contest, Story Telling Contest, and News Anchor Contest were the offered competition in EXIT 2019.
The Chief of English Education Department said that EXIT 2019 should catch attentions from all of Senior High Schools in East Java. There were 220 participants in total which joined the four competitions.
The opening ceremony was held on Saturday, September 27th in The Hall of Microteaching Building. Mr. Kawakip, as the Secretary of English Education Department, officially opened the whole sequence events of EXIT 2019.
Different with the previous edition, EXIT 2019 invited expert juries to join the event. There were Mrs. Andre Masson, from RELO US. Embassy, as a jury of Speech Contest and Mr. Yayak Priasmara, from Sanggar Seni Gedhang Godhog Tulungagung, as a jury of Drama Contest.
EXIT 2019 carried environmental issue as the big theme. The Chairman of EXIT 2019 said that environmental issues is chosen following the worldwide issues which has included environment as one of the major issues in the world. Therefore, green and blue color dominated the decoration in all venues.
EXIT 2019 was ended by a night closing ceremony in The Hall of C Building on Sunday, September 28th. The Chief of English Education Department gave his thankful speech for all participants and officials. The winners of the four competitions were also announced in this closing ceremony. “The minus point of EXIT 2019 is the venue. It needs to be larger than just a small class. But, EXIT should always be held to accommodate our passion in English,” said one of the participant from Mojokerto.
